You touched my heart
and made the wind stand still.
You took my voice so I
could only sing for you.
You held my soul tightly
in your hands last night.
I knew I had no will
for your will prevailed.
You blinded me to all others
yet you saw me not,
heard me not,
felt me not.
Sadly you will never
come to know me.

I'd get pretty mad if someone took my voice n I couldn't sing!
I feel there are many around me who'll never understand or care about my perspective too!
I think I know you're a good poet, tho!
Snaggle Tooth:
Thanks about calling me a good poet. Poetry is such a strange Beast.
That is sad and beautiful.
Lynn:
Like life
good and evil
sweet and sour
fast and slow
on and on
never ending
In our own bubble
some making their
threads of life
others just holding on
Have a geat weekend.
This makes me think of someone totally and blindly in love with someone who truly doesn't deserve it...

:-)
Sad. Too often true. But then eventually the wind does blow again. We get our voices back. We move on ... A little less for the wear ...
Sensitive poem, Ellis. Well done.
JamieDedes:
The winds of love do blow strange.
Ha! They do indeed .... The upside of getting old: don't care. :-)
Touching. With very few words, you've painted a picture of emotion very well.
JamieDedes:
I know none of us are old, so who are you talking about.Wink.
JRM:
Thanks for the kind words and for dropping by.
I agree with Lyn, this is sad and beautiful.
There's a lot of longing in this one...
You do have a way of putting your words together and evoking a mood.
Well written, Ellis:~)

Sara:
